Condolence From: Bob Banting
Condolence: We are so sad to hear the news that Rod has passed on. He was the last surviving person to see my great uncle Sir Frederick Banting alive. The crash is an often told story taking the life of the co-discoverer of insulin along with two of three crew members. Rog was a tremendous keeper of Gander history. Well wishes to those who he left behind. Bob Banting

Condolence From: Percy Farwell
Condolence: To the Goff family. Sorry to hear of Mr. Goff's passing. Over the years I have come to admire his intellect and his passion for lifelong learning. We would chat on many occasions while I was serving on Town Council in the 90's and his input was always gentlemanly, well informed, well-intentioned, and valued. Gander has lost a great citizen. Take comfort in knowing he lived a full, rich life, was well respected, and will be fondly remembered by those who had the privilege of knowing him.

Condolence From: Robert Pelley
Condolence: I didn't really know Mr Goff personally - but I certainly knew OF him! Anyone asking even to most obscure question about Gander's history could quite likely get the reply "Well I don't have answer myself but I know someone who most probably does..let's call Rod Goff!" He was a font of knowledge who will be direly missed. My father Calvin J Pelley knew him well and considered him a perfect gentleman. So my sincerest sympathies for the family of this loss - but I'm sure you will be able to look up late some clear evening and way out there, you be will just be able to spot him on a ramp somewhere, dispatching angels.
